Create a new account in NetID

Overview

This article will help you understand how to set up your own account in NetID so that you can access Catholic Schools NSW services.

Prerequisites

  • You will need a working email address provided by Microsoft Office 365 or Google Workspace

We recommend using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge web browser. Both these browsers offer the most seamless access to the platform and the Single Sign-On process.

Instructions

New Accounts

1. Go to the NetID website at https://netid.csnsw.catholic.edu.au or you can also Google “netid” and it will be the first option available to you.

2. Please enter your email address and select Next

  1. Select the “Sign Up” tab to start the process of creating your account.

Click on the appropriate button to either “Sign up with Google” (if you use G Suite for your email) or “Sign up with Microsoft” (if you use Office 365/Outlook for your email).

For the creation of new accounts, the only option is to use Single Sign-On (SSO) through your school or diocesan email account. It means your NetID account will be linked to your Google or Microsoft account.

If unsure which one to select, check with the IT department for your school or diocese which is the email provider for your organization (Google or Microsoft?).

3. Enter your details.

Fill up the New Account Registration form with your details then select the Complete Registration button when finished.

If you don’t see your particular role in the list, just select the closest match.

4. Account Pending

Once you have completed the Sign Up process, your account will be in a “Pending” state, where your school principal or someone from your diocese will need to approve your account. They will be notified of this through NetID and emails.

Your NetID account will be activated when your school principal or someone from your diocese has approved your new user account request.

When your NetID account has been activated, you can log in to NetID.

Account already exists

If you have already created an account and the system can match your Single Sign-on email address with one in the system, you will see a screen that looks like this:
