Setting up your CSSA account for Microsoft Teams

Prerequisite

You have been sent an email from CSNSW with your CSSA Exams login details. The email includes your username and temporary password. See the image below for an example.

If you have not received the email in your regular Inbox, check your Junk or Spam folder.

Procedures

  1. Open your web browser using GUEST profile.

If you are using Google Chrome, click your profile in the top-right corner and then select Guest.

If you are using Microsoft Edge, click your profile in the top-left corner, select Other profile and then select Browse as guest.

 

  1. In the address bar, type in teams.microsoft.com and then press enter.

It will take you to the Microsoft Teams sign in page that looks like below.

  1. Enter your CSSA username and then select Next.

Your CSSA username is in a format of your firstname.lastname@cssaexams.nsw.edu.au

  1. Enter your CSSA temporary password and then select Sign In.

  1. It will prompt you More information required. This is the process where you have to setup multifactor authentication. Select Next to start setting up your authentication method.

  1. Select I want to set up a different method.

You are required to setup via Phone authentication method.

  1. Choose a method. Select Phone and then Confirm.

  1. Change the country code to Australia and then enter your mobile number and then select Next.

  1. Check your mobile phone and enter the code that was sent to you by Microsoft via SMS. Select Next.

  1. Once the verification is completed, it will prompt you that your phone has been register successfully.

Click Done.

  1. It will prompt you to update your password.

Current password is your temporary CSSA password.

Create your own password under the New password and then type it again under Confirm password.

Select Sign in.

  1. After you click Sign in, it will take you to verify your identity using the Phone authentication.

Select Text.

  1. Enter the code that we sent to your mobile number and then select Verify.

  1. You will be prompted asking you to Stay signed in?, select No.

  1. It will take you in to Microsoft Teams.

On the top right corner, click your profile to check that your are logged in using your CSSA account.

On the left menu, click Teams to see the subject that your are registered with.
